Marchant was born out of frustration. Running a business across the UK and Europe meant dealing with incompatible accounting tools, broken VAT exports and payroll spreadsheets. We knew there had to be a better way.
Our mission
To give every business owner — from a London sole trader to a Paris-based startup to a Berlin SME — one beautiful, compliant and affordable tool to run their entire finances.

Founder
I build Marchant, and the tax work is mine: HMRC Making Tax Digital for VAT, MTD for Income Tax and the Construction Industry Scheme, written against HMRC's own APIs. That is where the product's depth comes from — and it is expertise I can show you rather than certify. I am not a qualified accountant and Marchant is not accounting advice. For anything needing a qualification your accountant is the right person, which is why Marchant is built to hand them clean books.

We started Marchant because we were tired of juggling five different tools to run a small business. Every feature solves a real problem we've experienced ourselves.
Multi-country by design
UK, France and Germany have very different tax and payroll rules. We designed for all three from the start — Marchant covers the UK today, with France and Germany planned for 2028.
