Questions from small business owners
- Is Marchant priced per user?
- Base plans are not priced per user. Each plan includes seats at no extra cost (Starter: 3, Professional: 10, Premium: 20, Business: 35), and extra seats can be added on Premium and above.
- Can I run payroll in the same Marchant account?
- Not yet. UK PAYE payroll through the BrightPay sync is coming soon; it will post payslips and journal entries into the same chart of accounts as your general ledger. Until then you keep employee records in Marchant and post the payroll journal by hand. French and German payroll accounting, and dedicated FR and DE payroll integrations, are planned for 2028.
- How does Marchant handle multi-currency transactions?
- Marchant records each transaction in its original currency and applies exchange rates at the date of the transaction. Your P&L and balance sheet can be viewed in your functional currency with FX gains and losses tracked separately.
